Plump, succulent shrimp are seasoned perfectly in a garlic, basil and olive oil marinade. This recipe is contest winning and was featured in Taste of Home!

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup olive oil

  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce

  • 2 tbsp fresh basil, minced

  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

  • 2 lbs  uncooked jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • wooden skewers, soaked for at least 30 minutes

Directions

  • In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the first 7 ingredients.
  • Add shrimp into the bag.
  •  Seal bag and turn to coat.
  • Refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Drain and discard marinade.
  • Thread shrimp onto soaked wooden skewers.
  • Lightly oil grill grate.
  • Grill over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side until shrimp turn pink, turning once.
