Chinese Buffet Style Green Beans

Ingredients
1-1/2 lbs fresh green beans, washed, trimmed, and cut into 2-inch pieces
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tsp granulated sugar
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh grated ginger root (or a pinch of ground ginger powder)
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1 tbsp canola oil
toasted sesame seeds for garnish

Directions
- In a large pot of rapidly boiling water, cook green beans until just tender (about 6 minutes).
- While beans are cooking, in a small bowl combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and ginger root, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
- Drain beans, set aside.
- Heat 1 tbsp. canola oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add garlic, cook stirring constantly until softened (20-30 seconds).
- Add green beans, cook stirring and turning constantly, until well coated (about 2 minutes).
- Add soy sauce mixture, continue to stir and turn until most of the liquid is absorbed (1-2 minutes).
- Garnish with sesame seeds.
- Serve and enjoy, pass Sambal Oelek at the table for each person to add their desired amount.
