Ingredients
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup yellow corn meal
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1-1/4 cups milk
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 tbsp butter, melted
- Serving
softened butter
honey
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°f.
- Grease an 8″ x 8″ baking pan.
- Combine flour, sugar, corn meal, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Combine milk, eggs, vegetable oil, and butter in a medium bowl, mix well.
- Add to flour mixture, stir just until blended.
- Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Bake for 40 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool for 5 minutes on a wire rack, serve warm.
- Cut evenly into 9 squares.
- Spread with butter and drizzle with honey.
