Ingredients
1 salmon fillet, preferably skin-on (1-1/2lbs. 3/4th inch thick)
freshly ground black pepper
3 pats butter
- Marinade
1/3 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
2 green onions, chopped
1 tbsp fresh grated ginger root (or 1 tsp. ground ginger)
2 cloves of garlic, minced (or 1 tsp. garlic powder)
1/4 tsp sesame oil
Directions
- Season salmon with freshly ground black pepper, to taste, and add to a gallon sized resealable freezer bag, set aside.
- Combine all marinade ingredients and mix well.
- Pour marinade over salmon, seal bag and turn to coat.
- Marinate salmon in the refrigerator for 1 hour, turning once or twice.
- Place fish fillet in the center of a large piece of heavy-duty aluminum foil.
- Spoon a few tablespoons of the marinade over the fish.
- Add 3 pats of butter to the top of the fish.
- Wrap foil securely around the fish.
- Grill for 15-18 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork, turning occasionally.
Notes
- In my pictures of the fish, we spooned some teriyaki glaze over it from “Best Teriyaki Marinade and Glaze for London Broil“.
- You can add crushed red pepper flakes or a tsp. of sriracha if you’d like it spicier.
