This tasty yet subtle marinade enhances the flavor of the salmon without overpowering it.

Ingredients

  • 1 salmon fillet, preferably skin-on (1-1/2lbs. 3/4th inch thick)

  • freshly ground black pepper

  • 3 pats butter

  • Marinade
  • 1/3 cup freshly squeezed orange juice

  • 1/3 cup soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 2 green onions, chopped

  • 1 tbsp fresh grated ginger root (or 1 tsp. ground ginger)

  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced (or 1 tsp. garlic powder)

  • 1/4 tsp sesame oil

Directions

  • Season salmon with freshly ground black pepper, to taste, and add to a gallon sized resealable freezer bag, set aside.
  • Combine all marinade ingredients and mix well.
  • Pour marinade over salmon, seal bag and turn to coat.
  • Marinate salmon in the refrigerator for 1 hour, turning once or twice.
  • Place fish fillet in the center of a large piece of heavy-duty aluminum foil.
  • Spoon a few tablespoons of the marinade over the fish.
  • Add 3 pats of butter to the top of the fish.
  • Wrap foil securely around the fish.
  • Grill for 15-18 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork, turning occasionally.
