Two ways to make white rice that come out perfect every time!

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 2 cups long-grain white rice, rinsed thoroughly.

  • 3 cups water

  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

  • Rice Cooker
  • Add rice, oil, water and salt to the rice cooker.
  • Cook according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Fluff with a fork when cooked.
  • Stove
  • Into a large saucepan, add oil, water, and salt.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Stir in rice.
  • Reduce heat to low.
  • Cover and simmer for 18-20 minutes, until all the water is absorbed.
  • Do not remove the lid, the steam helps it cook.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat, do not uncover yet.
  • Let stand for 5 minutes, then uncover and fluff with fork.

Notes

  • Do not skip the rinsing step! It removes the starches and keeps the rice from being sticky.
